If you haven’t already heard, Walmart is beginning to offer free college tuition and books to its 1.5 million employees. This is being done to help entice, attract and retain workers in today's labor market. This program is for workers who want to pursue majors in high-demand fields, such as business administration, supply chain, and cybersecurity. The reason these programs were chosen is because they are directly tied to the growth areas at Walmart. The hope is that this will remove one barrier to adult workers so that they can pursue their passion and purpose in life (www.washingtonpost.com).

The program is called Walmart’s Live Better U education program and has been around for three years - however starting on August 16th it started to be free to its employees, prior to this employee’s had to pay a dollar a day to be part of the program.

There is one caveat, if you want to take advantage of this program you have to attend one of the following colleges:
Brandman University
Johnson & Wales University
Pathstream
Penn Foster
Purdue University
Southern New Hampshire University
Voxy EnGen
Wilmington University
University of Arizona
University of Denver
If you are currently an employee at Walmart it is time to take advantage of this benefit. If you need help in figuring out where to start, reach out to me at info@atozeducationalconsulting.com or 612-735-1261.
