SENIOR TO-DO LIST

If you are going to be a senior in high school here are the top things you should be doing this summer:

Make your “top 5” list. Now is the time to start researching colleges you may be interested in. By the time school starts in the fall your goal should be to have your “top 5” college list completed.
Visit college campuses. Even though college campuses come alive in the fall, try to take advantage of your free time in the summer to visit some of the colleges you may be interested in attending.
Create a draft application essay. Summer is a good time to create a draft of a personal statement that you can continue to modify and make adjustments to for various college applications and scholarships.
Have fun! Remember it is summer after all and you need to make some time to have fun. It is easy to get overwhelmed with all the opportunities that present themselves - internships, jobs, and volunteer work. But remember to plan some time for fun and relaxation so you can start your senior year strong.
